LH So why don’t we start with you telling us how your love of Sanditon began? PB Well, I watched season one in January 2020, just before the world shut down, and found it really enjoyable - until it became clear that Charlotte was going to go for Sidney instead of Stringer. I watched (half-heartedly, eyes on my knitting) until the surprise ending, and while I know it broke many people’s hearts, I agreed with Theo James on it being much more interesting that way. It was intriguing, especially for an Austen-esque show - where were they going to take it from there??? Above all, I loved the idea of the first love not being the true love. LH Oh I so agree.
